BigBang…Microbes! – Workshop on Cultivation of the Uncultivationables!
Tthe Association for General and Applied Microbiology (VAAM) special group “Space Microbiology”, invites you to our interdisciplinary event: the “BigBang…Microbes! – Workshop on Cultivation of the Uncultivationales!”. Date: Sept. 28 & 29, 2023. Place: :envihab @ DLR, Cologne/Köln.
The event focuses on the cultivation of microorganisms, the isolation and characterization of (new) strains as well as microbial communities, their application or utility in wide variety of applications fields from basic to applied research, e.g., biotechnology, chemistry, medicine, agriculture, food industry and aerospace.
We would like to cordially invite all interested scientists, especially early career and experienced scientists such PhD students, PostDocs and early PIs to submit their interest to participate and an abstract on their research to “weltraummikrobiologie@dlr.de” (before July 1st, 2023). From Neanderthals to COVID-19: genetic and evolutionary sources of human immune response variation
The 23rd Heremans Lecture, which will be given by Professor Lluis QUINTANA-MURCI, who will enlighten us on the immune response variation: “From Neanderthals to COVID-19: genetic and evolutionary sources of human immune response variation”.
The lecture will take place on Monday, October 10 at 5:00 PM, in the auditorium A (Lacroix) on the UCL Health Sciences campus in Brussels. It will be followed by a reception at the de Duve Institute.
